This week we continued our exploration of nonfiction. To help students begin to zoom in on important details and eventually the topic and main idea of a nonfiction passage, we have been looking at details in the words and pictures in articles we are reading. After we have learned to identify details, we are going to begin discriminating between interesting and important details, to help us get to the topic and main idea of the passages we have read. |
