Using some of our newly acquired technology skills, students began using different technology centers this week. First, students used the computer to read articles from National Geographic Young Explorer (http://ngexplorer.cengage.com/ngyoungexplorer/readstory.html). Students then drew and labeled details from the articles in their Reader's Notebooks. This is a fantastic website that we use throughout the year - they have amazing archives of nonfiction articles that are read aloud! We also began using the iPads (thank you, Ms. Falco!) for letter identification and to build words. It was a very proud moment for a STEM Literacy teacher to see students able to effortlessly include

I love teaching kindergarten literacy at STEM! It is amazing to be a part of the reading and writing growth of a kindergarten student. You get to see kids move from knowing some letters and sounds to being enthusiastic readers and young authors. Archives
